SOUTH LANCASHIRE TRANSPORT 1901-1958

This company had been operating trams since 1901 and was acquired by LUT in 1905. It continued to operate trams and trolleybuses as a subsidiary of LUT until 1958 when trolleybus operation ceased and the company was wound up.

Nos. 27-36 mostly re-bodied as saloon buses (B32F?) between 1921 and 1926 (numbers unknown) and many re-numbered (details uncertain); the bodies were probably built by Strachan & Brown; British Commercial and LUT themselves (there is also a photographic record of an LUT vehicle found in English Electric archives which may mean that some of the bodies were built there).
No. 37 was a non-passenger vehicle - probably a battery-powered Orwell built by Ransomes, Sims and Jeffries.
Nos. 45-47 originally B32R but rebuilt to B32F at an unknown date.
No. 58-59 ex-Robey, Cadishead (new ?).
No. 60 re-bodied by Roe (c. 1930); re-numbered 1.
Withdrawn unknown (25-36; 38-59, 60[1]).
